Browser

In the above screenshot you can see a browser window with a news site. With DeskoverX it's easy to create a playlist with one or more of your favourite news- or weather sites, maybe the latest stock exchange data.... or simply a local html-file on your hard drive where you run your own little java programs. To each one of those sites you can assign a refresh rate at which the browser automatically get the very latest version of the website. Make a playlist with more than one website and the browser will shuffle through all your favourite sites at your specified time interval. Never miss the latest developments again.

Please be aware that some sites try to open additional popup windows, you may want to include some less annoying websites in your playlist. However, to block most of these popup windows, interaction with the DeskoverX browser window is limited. To allow you to follow a link in a website it's possible you use a click with your right mouse button and choose Open Link in New Window. This will open a new normal  browser window on top of your desktop.

Loading This Preset

DeskoverX ships with several presets of the most common background layouts (see the other screenshots and descriptions on this website). It's quite easy to load a preset. Here's a short summary of how to load the preset for the above screenshot :

• Start DeskoverX. Now there's the icon for DeskoverX in the system-tray (the area with the small icons and the clock in the taskbar. You can see it in the lower right corner of the screenshot above ).
• Click on the DeskoverX icon and a menu appears. Choose Load layout...
• The layout selection window appears. At the top left you can see a list of presets. On the right there's a description of the currently highlighted preset. Click on Browser. Now that you have selected this preset click the Load button at the bottom of the selection window.
• Enjoy.
