You can customize your layout in layoutmode. To start layoutmode, click on the DeskoverX icon in the system-tray and the following menu appears. Choose from this menu. Now the layout-manager appears in the lower right corner of your screen. The exact look of the layout-manager depends on your current layout, but it will look similar to the following picture on the right. Please note that while in layoutmode the normal interaction with your desktop is not possible.

When you have added a plugin, you can change its settings by first selecting its entry in the layout manager and then clicking on it again. Alternatively you can click on an entry with your right mouse button and select from the context menu that will appear. Then the settings-page of that plugin appears. The following links provide you with information on how to
When you have loaded and configured all the plugins you want for your layout, you should arrange them on your screen. That means you have to adjust the size and position of a plugin's area on the screen. In layoutmode all the plugin areas are surrounded by a layout frame. You can change the position, width and height of such an area just like a normal window. Simply click with the mouse on the border or one of the corners of the frame, keep the mouse-button down and rescale. You can also move the whole plugin area by grabbing the title bar of the frame and dragging it to the new position.
To make it easier to work with complex layouts, you can select a plugin in the layout-manager by clicking on it. The frame of the selected plugin now changes to a highlighted color and it is now drawn in front of everything else. This is especially useful if the area of that plugin is partially or completely obscured by other plugins or windows.

Additionally, you can sort in which order the plugin areas are stacked on top of each other. That means you can choose which area of a certain plugin lies on top of another plugin. The desktop background is always at the bottom of the stacking order. Just place the plugins on top of each other. To do that, select a plugin in the layout-manager, keep the left mouse button pressed, drag the plugin to its new position in the stacking order and release the mouse button.
In the following example the Globe plugin covers the complete desktop and obscures the other two plugins. The Globe plugin is therefore dragged to a lower position in the stacking order. Now the Globe just covers the desktop background and the other two plugins are now visible.

When you have loaded, arranged and configured all the plugins you want for your layout, you should save it. Click on the Save Layout button and save your layout for later use.

When you are done customizing and saving your layout, you should exit the layoutmode, so you can again work normally with your desktop. To exit the layoutmode simply click on the Exit Layoutmode button in layout-manager.

The layoutmode will then be exited, the layout-frames will be removed from the plugins' areas and the layout-manager will be closed. Normal interaction with your desktop is restored.
